T-Level Students Secure Experience with Cisco and IBM

Students from the Digital Production, Design and Development T-Level at West London College have secured highly sought-after industry placements with global tech giants Cisco and IBM, marking a significant achievement in their professional and educational journeys.

A group of students recently completed a six-week placement at Cisco’s UK headquarters in Bedfont Lakes, gaining first-hand experience inside one of the world’s most innovative technology companies. The structured programme provided a dynamic blend of technical learning, personal development, and professional insight. Throughout the placement, students were fully integrated into Cisco teams, where they contributed to real-world projects and worked alongside industry experts.

Their work included developing software tools, configuring network equipment, and experimenting with cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity. Alongside their technical tasks, students enhanced their professional skills through mock interviews, presentation training, and career coaching. A highlight of the experience was visiting the Cisco Meraki office, where students broadened their understanding of global tech operations. By the end of the placement, they had not only developed deeper technical knowledge but also gained clarity and confidence about their future careers in the digital sector.

In another major success for the programme, the same cohort of T-Level students were recently invited to the IBM Innovation Centre in London for an exclusive insight into emerging digital technologies. The visit gave students the opportunity to explore the tools shaping the future workplace – from AI-powered solutions and cloud platforms to real-time data analytics and interactive robotics.

During the visit, students took part in formal interviews and group assessments designed to test their problem-solving, communication, and technical abilities. So impressive was their performance that every student was offered a two-week placement with IBM, beginning in October 2026. These upcoming placements will give learners the chance to work on real industry projects and gain valuable hands-on experience in a world-leading digital environment.
