GCSEs at a grade 4 or above (the equivalent to a 'C' grade) are often compulsory for many university degrees and jobs. Our GCSE Retake Programme allows you a second chance to achieve your full potential, delivered during the day at Ealing Green College.
If you are aged 16-18, you will normally study five subjects as part of your Study Programme, or if you are aged 19 or older, you can choose to study individual subjects.
We offer:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- English
- Mathematics
Each GCSE is taught for 3 hours per week.
You will have a personal tutor who supports and guides you through the course, meeting with them for both group meetings and one-to-one meetings regularly.
If you are aged 16-18, you will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grades 2 or 3. If your grades are below this, you will be referred to one of our Level 1 or Level 2 programmes.
If you are aged 19 or older, depending on your current qualifications, you may need to sit an assessment prior to assess your current level.
GCSEs are assessed by external examinations at the end of the year, combined with internal assessments in some subjects.
Upon successful completion of this one-year programme, you can progress on to a wide range of Level 3 courses, where the general requirement is four to five GCSEs at grades 9-4.
Achieving GCSEs, especially English and mathematics, improves the chance of employment or gaining an apprenticeship and are required for progression to university.
The course is delivered during the day and you will learn in dedicated theory classrooms and Science laboratories for Science subjects.
