The Digital T Level is a two-year career-focused qualification for post-16 learners. This course has been designed for students who are serious about starting a career in the IT and Digital sector, offering a direct route into employment, higher apprenticeships, or higher education. It provides a balance of technical theory, practical skills, and real-world experience through an extended industry placement.
Unlike traditional classroom-based courses, the T Level includes 45 days of working with a Technology Company, giving students a genuine understanding of digital careers. Many students progress directly into apprenticeships or secure permanent roles after their placement. Our current year's cohort are completing placements with CISCO, IBM and Amazon.
This hands-on experience complements the in-depth curriculum and ensures students are not just learning about digital development - they are living it.
Programme Structure
The Digital T Level is made up of four integrated components:
- Core Technical Qualification: Broad foundational knowledge of digital concepts and practices
- Occupational Specialism: Focus on Digital Production, Design & Development, where learners develop and apply programming, problem-solving, and data handling skills
- Industry Placement: A substantial employer-led placement, tailored to each learner’s pathway
- Employability & Enrichment: Personal development sessions, digital identity workshops, and career readiness activities.
With its industry links, this T Level helps students stand out when applying for Digital Apprenticeships, particularly Level 4 and above, or for digital degree programmes. It is designed with input from employers to meet real-world standards and includes preparation for digital portfolios, technical interviews, and collaborative team projects.
