Sarah Benjamin joined West London College back in 2001 after working as an IT technician for a civil engineering company, where she also started her journey as an IT trainer. She joined the college as a visiting teacher and then as a permanent IT lecturer in 2003. She has had a variety of roles during her time at the college including, new teacher mentor, learning coach, and an IT trainer for teaching and support staff. She has also been a course co-ordinator for 14-16 IT programmes and is now a programme lead on the Level 1 and 2 IT study programmes.

She has valued all of these roles over the years. This experience has given her a practical insight into the good work that staff do around the college – and is something she feels can provide valuable insights and contributions to the role of academic staff governor.
