The VTCT Skills Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is an advanced qualification that has been specifically designed for beauty therapists, who wish to add laser and IPL treatments to their repertoire of treatment offerings and proceed to employment as a level 4 laser therapist.

Whether you're working in aesthetics or looking to step into a more clinical role, this course gives you the knowledge and hands-on experience to perform laser and IPL procedures safely, confidently, and professionally.
This course is open to all learners aged 18 and over. It is recommended that applicants have:
- Beauty Therapy - Level 3, or equivalent (or equivalent medical qualifications).
- Four GCSEs grade 5 or above, including English and maths or Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2
In addition, this course has a specific dress code to comply with industry standards:
- Nails must be short and well-maintained
- Make-up should be natural-looking
- Hair must be clean, well-cared for and tidy; if your hair is longer than shoulder length, it should be tied up in a bun
- Personal jewellery is not allowed during practical lessons
- Beards and moustaches must be neatly groomed and trimmed
- Short-sleeved clothing with The Salon uniform/scrubs, accompanied by flat, covered black shoes
You may also need to complete an initial assessment in English and Maths, depending on your grades.

This qualification will be assessed by an internally assessed portfolio of evidence including internal practical assessment to meet 100% of criteria. All assessment criteria in the four mandatory units must be evidenced to achieve this qualification. - Level 4 Award in Physiology for Advanced Beauty Therapy
The Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is a beauty aesthetic qualification aimed at level 3 qualified practitioners aged 18 and over, who wish to add laser and IPL treatments to their repertoire of treatment offerings and proceed to employment as a level 4 laser therapist.
This qualificationis focused on reducing hair growth and photo rejuvenation of the skin using intense light and laser treatments.
