The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning combines theory with practical study. It has been designed to provide you with a good understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children in a school environment such as how children develop their understanding, how to encourage learning and professional best practice.
You must have a good command of spoken and written English at Level 2.
A written entry test will be taken to assess your English.
You need to provide proof of placement at enrolment.
You will need to produce a portfolio of evidence to show that you have completed the performance criteria. This may include photos, written work, answers to questions and observation reports on your work with children.
You may be able to move onto a level 3 qualification and if currently volunteering look for full time employment.
You could continue your studies and gain additional qualifications at Level 3 and can progress to university if desired.
You could work as a qualified classroom assistant supporting the teacher and helping children in a primary school.
You will learn in dedicated classrooms, some will have access to computers for self-study, project work and class work. Other resources include access to learning materials in the Learning Centre.
