The NCFE CACHE Level 1 Certificate in Caring for Children qualification provides you with an understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to care for young children.
Although the qualification does not qualify you to work with children it does support you in preparing for the “next steps” either in training or moving towards the world of work.
It has been designed to help you develop the practical skills need for employment and to prepare for further learning or training, enabling you for a fulfilling career in the sector.
We recommend that you have:
- Four GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English and maths
or
Functional Skills in English and maths at Entry Level 3
At enrolment, you will have an interview with our course tutors to ensure the course is right for you. You may also need to complete an initial assessment in English and maths, depending on your grades.
Your assessments are designed to match what you’ve learned. All your work will be marked by your tutors, giving you a chance to show off your skills in real-world situations.
You’ll build a portfolio of your coursework, showcasing your progress throughout the course. Plus, you’ll get hands-on experience through practical assignments and receive feedback from your tutors. Some elements, such as Functional Skills, may also have external exams.
After completing this course, you'll be well-prepared for further study in the industry, such as a study programme at Level 2.
You will learn in dedicated classrooms through a variety of planned lessons and workshops.
