Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent Level 2

Official data showed that over 7,500 people were referred to the Prevent programme in 2015/2016. The purpose of this qualification is to support anyone who is responsible for the safeguarding of people and for helping prevent radicalisation. It gives learners an understanding of recognising the signs of abuse, how to reduce the risk of radicalisation and for the potential consequences of illegal online activity. You will:

  • Achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification.
  • Evidence your competency to employers.
  • Further your personal and professional development.
  • Learn at a time that suits you without the need to attend college.
  • Recognise signs of abuse or potential harm.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need to be:

  • aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you wish to study
  • be eligible to study in the UK, with 'in-date' evidence that shows that you will be resident in the UK for the duration of the course and not currently studying an apprenticeship programme

You will also need access to a computer (laptop or desktop), and a stable internet connection, to access our interactive online learning platform.

ASSESSMENT METHOD

You will complete a series of assessments within a set time-frame which will be marked by a qualified assessor these will produce the relevant evidence to meet the requirements for the awarding body. On successful completion you will be awarded a nationally recognised level 2 qualification.

PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES

To further your personal development you may wish to undertake up to three Level 2 courses at the same time.
